The Annual General Meeting and Pot Luck Dinner of the Friends of Fiji was held Saturday, January 28 at the home of Jim and Polly Reierson in Arlington, VA. Thirty friends attended. President Rob Bartel conducted a brief business meeting that included a summary of projects and last year’s 50th anniversary events, treasurer and membership reports, and the election of the Board of Directors.
Fiji Ambassador Winston Thompson thanked Friends of Fiji and provided an update on the recent floods in Fiji. Ben Raterman reported on last summer’s trip to Fiji and the work of 30 volunteers on two Habitat for Humanity houses near Suva. Linda Ayers showed pictures of the trip.
